THE PROBLEM OF PRESERVING NATIONAL TRADITIONS IN THE WORKS OF KALMYK WRITER-EMIGRANT S. BALYKOV

Abstract. The article considers the literary work of talented writer Sanji Balykov (1894–1943), who developed as a creative personality being in emigration. The restored legacy of the talented writer proves the possibility of preserving national identity in the environment of another nation. Despite the fact that all his works were written in emigration, they are distinguished by a deep national nature. Balykov’s characters, despite social cataclysms and changes, remain inextricably linked to the national history, traditions and customs, moral principles of ancestors formed by centuries.
