Annotation. The article examines the interaction of journalistic and artistic discourses as a process of structuring social mythology. Social mythology is considered in the context of traditional mythological practices. The article analyzes the media potential of artistic discourse as the semantic foundation of mythological concepts. Thus, artistic discourse is considered as an ideal field of semantics formation in the conditions of mass media deficit.
