Abstract: The article analyzes the meaning of the name novel of M. A. Bulgakov "the Dog heart" in the context of the ideological quest of the era. The author argues that the work of the writer has not so much sci-Fi, how much polemical content, as a socio-philosophical satire on attempts to improve human nature as such, and drawing on a long tradition of Russian and world literature
